Beginning/Intermediate Diving

PDA was established in 1997 and has a long history of creating high level champions!

Diving is the only sport that requires a head-first entry, which is unnatural for most. Which is why diving takes repetition and consistency to see the best growth. Our World Class Dryland Facility is the secret to great progress in a short amount of time. Diving is also an artistic sport, and the small details matter.

We know that many children are involved in several different after school activities, so we have redesigned our program to allow for trying out and participating in other sports and activities throughout the year!

Beginning/Intermediate Diving

If your child loves jumping, flipping, rollercoasters, and water, then Diving is the sport for them!

Beginning Diving offers students an introduction to the sport of diving! Students will have 45 minutes of dryland practice at our gym, working on strength, conditioning, and diving simulation, and 1 hour of water practice at the Cerritos Olympic Swim Center, with a 15-minute break in between. No experience necessary!

Please note: Water practice is NOT a swimming lesson. Students will be diving into the pool, so it is important that children already know how to swim. Anyone who knows how to swim, can learn to dive!

In our Beginning/Intermediate program, competing is not required, but we want to introduce students to competition and hopefully create a love of the sport! All competitions will be local and skill based. There will be skill based competitions once a month.

As your beginning diver gains more experience, we encourage you to add more days in your training. The more days your diver attends, the stronger your diver will become!

When divers pass the intermediate level, they will be invited to join the Junior Olympic Competitive Diving team. This group is required to travel and compete on the Regional-National level.

Beginning/Intermediate DivingAges 6-15

Flex schedule. Attend any 1-3 days the class is offered.

Divers will have a set day/set days to attend practice each week, but if their schedule gets busy, just make it to 1 of the 3 day choices offered.

Example: Diver A usually attends practice every Wednesday, but they have a school event to attend that day, so they decide to come to a Saturday practice instead for that week.
